I want to introduce you to Allan, an introverted 8th grader who excels in school. I was able to talk with his teachers on my trip to Kenya this past May (note: I funded the trip, all donations go to the projects) His teachers described him as a “good boy” who will “go beyond any limits” and “we will see him in America!” He is a shy quiet, intelligent young man whose parents have passed away. He is #1 in his class and #1 in the school exams. Without the outreach of Yote Yawezekana Women’s Group he would not be in school. He is one of three students attending Malinya Primary supported by Projects of Hope. The boys have become friends and sit together and share ideas with one another. Allan is very shy and has benefited from the support of his friends.

Another young man I'd like to introduce you to is Joab. Joab is a confident, smart young man who only completed school up to the eighth grade. Joab is being supported in learning a trade through a polytechnic school. He is learning masonry. He is a leader amongst the students in his class and assists the teacher in the classroom. Joab was very proud of his masonry work and is grateful for the friends in the US reaching out to see him get the education he needs to become gainfully employed in Kenya as a masonry contractor.

Another young lady was recently added to the outreach efforts, who was very much in need of assistance. She lost two brothers to murder and her father to HIV. Noel is being supported in going to school and attends form 1 (grade 9).
I am very excited to share about the good work and outreach to the needy of the community by Yote Yawezekana under the wisdom and guidance of Peter. One of the widows,
Seventia, has a dilapidated one room house where she and her children live. The rain is leaking so much through the thatch roof. A kind supporter of Projects of Hope reached out with some funds for this special project that the group identified. The building of the new home will begin shortly! It is reported that
Seventia is so happy that we cannot even imagine it. When they visited her home she was so excited and what she said when Yote Yawezekana entered the house was "my prayers have been answered!" For those of you who watch US television, this is truly an “Extreme Home Makeover.” Thank you so much to the special friend who is making this dream come true for
Seventia and her children.
