Harvesting Hope
I am so very happy to share with you that the women of Yote Yawezekana have begun their income generating and life sustaining project of Corn Farming thanks to the generous spirits of so many friends and family who care deeply about the lives of families living in poverty. The women will be able to feed their children and also sell the extra maize in the market to earn income to support their families. Profits from selling the maize will allow the women to lease the farmland in subsequent years thus creating a sustainable project. Seven acres of land are being cultivated to provide for 21 families. We had a short timeline to raise these funds since planting season begins in January but we did it and so many families will benefit! Thank you so very much! We are also halfway to meeting our goal of sending 21 children to school.
Sincerely,
Shanna Branciforte
